You will admire a real green lung in the heart of the city, in the company of ducks (mallards), black swan, doves, ... The castle of Nieppe stands for nearly four centuries on the edge of a large park, close to the historic heart of the city. The current mansion is actually the third, rebuilt in the 1920s on the original foundations dating from 1610. It houses the Museum of Local History, open on Sunday from 15h to 17h in March, April, October and November from 15h at 18h from May to September. The castle park, witness of the past of Nieppe is today a real green lung with more than seven hectares of lawns, wood of rare wealth because there are more than thirty species of trees. Throughout a circuit of about one kilometer, changing but always pleasant, you will notice, around the manor house, the nearly quadrennial moat that swans and ducks furrow. An old hunting rendezvous restored and transformed into a dovecote, an enclosure where fallow deer hide. On site also: miniature golf, picnic area. Visit the botanical trail in the park one Sunday per month at 10am from May to October. Information: 03 28 49 23 79.
