The walking network Poelberg-Meikensbossen takes you through the undulating landscape on the border between Tielt and Dentergem. The 45m-high Poelberg with its Poelbergsite, the winding tracks through the fields, the protected landscape around the Poelbergmolen (mill), not to mention the Meikensbossen (forest) with old and young trees, ponds, alleys, hay fields and meadows provide the stunning backdrop for this walking network. The sweeping vistas and adorable tiny chapels complete the picture!

It unites 27 Lys Valley municipalities around a few common objectives: - tourist-recreational policy planning - improvement of the tourist-recreational structure & - promoting the Lys Valley as a tourist-recreational region Important point of attention include cycling & walking, water tourism, and art and culture on the waterfront. The functioning of Toerisme Leiestreek is based on the Strategic Policy Plan Tourism & Recreation for the Lys Valley. This plan lays out the major strong points for several years.
