River guide n°15 Nord-Pas-de-Calais

For over 20 years, Éditions du Breil has been publishing a collection of guides and maps on French waterways. These books are primarily intended for pleasure boaters, but are also useful for cyclists and walkers who want to discover the waterways.

The Nord and Pas-de-Calais départements boast a dense network of some 500 kilometers of navigable waterways. These rivers and canals, frequented for centuries by boats of all sizes, have always played an important role in the region's economy. This guide shows that "the canals of the north" also offer boaters routes just as exciting as the "tourist canals" of central and southern France.

On average, each guide is renewed every two years. For busy waterways, updates are even more regular. The waterways map shows the lock locations and gauge of each route. You'll also find the old canals, no longer listed as waterways but still part of France's river heritage.
